Getting the Installer
The installer is one file holding Docker, Koios, and the service that starts Koios with the machine. It installs on Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04 and 26.04, with or without internet. You download it on your own computer, check it arrived whole, and copy it onto the Koios machine.

Which File
Sign in to the Ai-OPs customer portal and open the Downloads page under Koios. Each release there offers an installer for each processor architecture. Take the newest release, in the architecture of the Koios machine rather than your own computer. To see it, run this on the Koios machine:
x86_64 needs the amd64 installer, and aarch64 needs arm64. The file's name says both, as in koios-v1.3.0-installer-amd64.tgz. The commands on this page and the next use that name, so type the name of the file you downloaded in its place.
The image files listed under each release are for updating a machine that already runs Koios. A new install needs the installer.
Check the Download
The installer is several gigabytes, and a download or copy cut short fails later in ways that are hard to read. Copy its checksum from the Downloads page, where a button beside each file copies it, then work out the checksum of the file you have:
The two must match exactly. Upper or lower case makes no difference.
Copy It onto the Machine
From your own computer, in the folder that holds the installer:
This works in Terminal on macOS and Linux, and in PowerShell on Windows. It asks for your password on the Koios machine and copies the file into your home folder there.
If nothing on your network can reach the Koios machine, carry the file across on a USB stick instead. Ubuntu Server does not open a USB stick by itself, so at the Koios machine:
Replace /dev/sdb1 with the partition lsblk showed for the stick.
How to tell it worked
On the Koios machine, the file is in your home folder and its checksum is the one the Downloads page shows:
Not what you see? How to fix it.
